  • Any additional work will be discussed and approved before proceeding
  • Variations may impact costs and completion timelines
  • We are not liable for delays or additional costs resulting from conditions not reasonably identifiable during initial inspections

6. Project Management and Site Access

6.1 Oversight

A project manager may be assigned depending on the size and complexity of the project.

6.2 Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide safe and reasonable site access, ensure availability of necessary utilities (such as water and electricity), and secure valuables before work begins.

6.3 Delays

Delays caused by restricted access, late approvals, client changes, or third-party involvement may affect timelines and costs.

7. Payments

7.1 Payment Terms

Payment terms will be specified in the quotation or agreement and may include deposits, progress payments, and final balances.

7.2 Late Payment

Late or non-payment may result in suspension of work, additional charges, or legal recovery. Ownership of materials may remain with Construction Durban until full payment has been received.

8. Standards and Compliance

Construction Durban operates in accordance with recognised professional and commercial standards and complies with applicable South African building regulations and NHBRC requirements. Compliance certificates are issued where applicable (e.g. electrical or plumbing work).

9. Warranties and Defects

Any workmanship defects must be reported in writing within a reasonable timeframe.

Warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Client-supplied materials
  • Damage caused by third parties
  • Lack of maintenance
  • Structural movement or conditions beyond our control

10. Insurance and Liability

We maintain appropriate contractor and business insurance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Construction Durban is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, pre-existing defects, or delays caused by factors such as weather conditions, material shortages, or force majeure events.

11. Health and Safety

We maintain controlled and professionally managed work environments. Clients must ensure that unauthorised persons are kept clear of work areas and comply with all safety requirements.

We reserve the right to suspend work where unsafe conditions are identified.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website remains the property of Construction Durban unless otherwise stated. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited.

13. Privacy

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legislation, including Protection of Personal Information Act. By engaging with us, you consent to the lawful processing of your information for service delivery purposes.

14. Cancellation and Termination
